Dr Giam Choo Hoo, a pioneer of the veterinary community in Singapore in the 1960s, passed away on 25 May 2021.
Dr Giam served in the public service in then-Primary Production Department (PPD), retiring as the Deputy Director of Primary Production. He developed the Veterinary Laboratory Services, and contributed to the Veterinary Regulatory Services in then-PPD during this period. He was also an active member of the veterinary community and contributed to professional development. He had served as Past-President of the Association of Veterinary Surgeons Malaysia/Singapore and the Singapore Veterinary Association; as well as a Regional Representative of the Commonwealth Veterinary Association (CVA).
