Junior Veterinary Nurse @ Oasis Vet

Website: www.oasis-vet.com

Oasis Vet is an ISFM Silver accredited Cat-Friendly Clinic providing evidence-based care to cats and dogs. We are looking for a nurse to train and grow with us.

Extensive experience is not essential. We are looking for someone willing to learn, able to take direction accurately, and able to communicate clearly with both colleagues and clients.

You are paired with a named senior nurse from your first day. Skills are taught in progressive levels — beginning with animal handling, hygiene and ward care, then surgical preparation, in-house diagnostics and radiography, and finally assisting with anaesthesia and the nursing of hospitalised patients. You progress as each stage is signed off, not by time served, and you will not be asked to perform a task you have not yet been trained in.

Learning here does not stop at the clinic floor. The majority of our nurses have gone on to complete formal qualifications while working with us, including Certificate IV and diplomas in veterinary nursing, and we actively support nurses who wish to do the same.

Job scope — all clinical work is carried out under the direction of the attending veterinarian:
– Supporting and assisting the veterinarian in consultation and procedures
– Inpatient nursing: treatments, fluid therapy, feeding and pain scoring
– Reception work
– In-house laboratory work, radiography and theatre preparation
– Ward hygiene, equipment care, stock and record keeping

Requirements:
– Singaporean or Permanent Resident
– Able to work weekends
– Good animal handling skills
– Good communication, teamwork and reliability
– A Diploma in Veterinary Technology or Veterinary Bioscience is preferred but not essential, but on-the-job training is provided

Facilities: IDEXX in-house biochemistry and haematology, digital and dental radiography, IM3 dental unit, multi-parameter patient monitoring, tonometry and slit lamp examination, surgical suite, and a dedicated cat ward separate from the dog runs.

To apply, please email your CV and a cover letter to admin@oasis-vet.com
