SUMMARY

The purpose of the Research Veterinarian is to ensure the highest standards of animal care is available and implemented to support the research that we perform to improve health and medicine. The Research Vet (RV) will be a trusted resource for the veterinary team and animal care staff in our facilities based in Taicang, Beijing, and Zhongshan. Will perform oversight and conduct of training programs to ensure continued excellence of veterinary care and will report to the Crownbio Global Vet.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a program that focuses on improving the laboratory animal environment, housing, and management
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance Program to ensure the health care for rodent colonies
• Maintain a digital system for management of animal health care records
• Improve and align best practices across sites

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Veterinary Degree that is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (UK) or equivalent
• Good communication skills in Chinese and English
• 3-5 years of laboratory animal experience
• Good surgical and technical skills
• 3-5 years of experience in management of a team of veterinarians and animal technicians

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Comfortable using computers, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and internet.
• Exceptional organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Able to multi-task with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy.
• Able to troubleshoot effectively and solve problems with moderate supervision.
• Willing and able to work under the pressure of deadlines and find solutions to meet timelines.
• Able to work across teams by being a flexible team player.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mandarin speaking is a must
