The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a manager to join our community animal clinic. The SPCA’s clinic is unique, as it is a not-for-profit clinic serving needy animals in Singapore. These include street dogs and cats, abused and rescued animals, shelter animals and, eventually, pets from low income households.

As the Clinic Manager, you will oversee and facilitate the smooth daily operations of the clinic, ensure the delivery of high quality veterinary medicine, promote high standards of animal welfare and provide excellent service to our clients. As our clinic is currently expanding, you will be instrumental in helping us grow and develop into a full-fledged community animal clinic. You will also be involved with community health programmes that make a direct and positive impact on the lives of animals and their human caregivers.

Key responsibilities

Leading

  • Actively work to maintain high standards of veterinary medicine and animal care
  • Be actively involved with the strategic development, planning and delivery of enhanced veterinary capabilities and impactful community health programmes
  • Develop a positive working environment and contribute to a learning culture

Managing operations

  • Smoothly running day to day clinic operations
  • Able to perform and provide cover for clinic receptionists and veterinary assistants when required
  • Establish good relations with all clinic stakeholders

Requirements

  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Degree in any discipline
  • At least three years of management experience, preferably in a veterinary environment
  • Animal handling and veterinary assistant experience
  • Mature and personable with excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and interact at all levels
  • Able to work shifts, including on weekends
