John Sheridan graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1960. In 1985 after a 25 year career as a small animal clinician, during which he established a small group of eight franchised veterinary practices, John was appointed MD of Anicare Group Services, offering a wide range of management consultancy services to the profession. John was President of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (1974-1975) and first President of the Veterinary Practice Management Association (1993-1996). He holds a Diploma in Management Studies, a Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management and the Certificate in Veterinary Practice Administration awarded by Purdue University and the American Animal Hospital Association. John Sheridan was joint founder of Veterinary Practice Initiatives Ltd, the first veterinary corporate consolidator in the UK and retired from the company executive team in 2003.

John now offers part-time management consultancy to the veterinary profession, publishes Veterinary Business Briefing, a practice management membership website for the international veterinary community and presents the Veterinary Business Video Show - an online video blog for everyone with an interest in the business of veterinary practice worldwide.

John Sheridan has spoken widely on veterinary practice management issues in the UK and overseas for many years and in addition to a number of private training and consultancy projects has recently presented at the Veterinary Executive Club of Japan (Tokyo Oct 2007), the Southern European Veterinary Conference (Barcelona Oct 2007), VetPartners - (Kansas City 2008), the North American Veterinary Conference - (Orlando 2009), a private group of veterinary practice owners (Barcelona 2009), the London Vet Show (2009), the Great Northern Vet Show (2010) and the London Vet Show (2010).

  • A searchlight on the people in your practice In this session we'll ask whether your clients and your employees do what you want them to do? How to measure, monitor and increase compliance to motivate your staff, benefit your patients and grow the bottom line
Cost: The early bird rate of HK$250 for members and HK$350 for non-members applies for on-line registrations received by 11.30pm on Thursday 1st September. On-line registrations must be accompanied by credit card payment and will not be accepted after 11.30pm on the eve of the seminar. The cost of the seminar for people who register and pay on the night will be HK$500 for both members and non-members. (SVA Members pay HKVA rate).
