CVE Webinar: Emerging Infectious Diseases - The Role of the Veterinary Profession

In this webinar, Michael Ward will discuss:

  • The importance of Animal Health to Human Health
  • Zoonotic disease, those infectious diseases that animals and human share in common
  • Preparations fo the dieases that do, or that might, arise as a result of the interactions between humans and animals
  • Research during the past 10 years that has begun to focus on the factors that promote disease emergence
  • Some case studies on zoonotic disease (including leptospirosis, West Nile virus, rabies, avian influenza, H1N1) will be presented to illustrate the concepts of the animal-human interfae and the role of the veterinary profession.
