Vision Loss Seminar - Dr. Robin Stanley

Two part seminar (40 minutes each) Part 1 - approach vision loss, history, clinical presentation, equipment needed, fundus exams Part 2 - causes and treatments for sudden vision loss. Case studies

Dr Robin Stanley
BVSc (Hons), FACVSc (Ophthalmology)

Dr Robin Stanley graduated with first class Honours from the University of Melbourne in 1984. Robin undertook an ophthalmology residency from 1987 to 1989 obtaining membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in small animal surgery. In 1990 Robin obtained his Fellowship of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in the field of ophthalmology. Robin is registered as a veterinary eye specialist, and is a Board of Examiner's member for the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists.

Dr Stanley works with two other veterinarians in a dedicated ophthalmology-only practice in Melbourne. Robin's clinical interests are in ophthalmic surgery, particularly small incisional cataract, hypertensive retinopathy, and glaucoma. He is visiting senior lecturer to the Veterinary School, University of Melbourne, and holds ophthalmology clinics at the Veterinary School.

Robin is well known for his practical and informative lecturing style and has done many presentations and symposiums in Australia. He has also lectured in Japan, the United States, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Sweden and England.

Dr Stanley has authored and co-authored 18 peer reviewed publications, and was the co-author of the book Common Eye Diseases: A Problem Oriented Text for Veterinarians, and has also contributed to textbooks such as Fundamentals of Veterinary Ophthalmology, Small Animal Ophthalmology: A Problem Oriented Approach and Small Animal Clinical Pharmacology.
